Whether you’re showcasing your own vehicle to other drivers, or you’re looking to rent a car, the team at Fleet are here to make the process as simple and enjoyable as possible. Our app is user-friendly and so is our customer service team – if you encounter any issues, we’re here, ready to chat.

The app has been designed so that renters and owners can use the service for their specific needs. Owners can list their vehicles, receive bookings and chat with renters. Renters, on the other hand, can search the cars that are available in their area, create wish lists, make bookings and chat directly with the car owner if necessary. It really is a great service if you’re looking to earn some extra money or if you’re in need of a car, but let’s delve a bit deeper into some of the concerns users of the app might have.

As a car owner, you might wonder how to list your car in the first place, but it couldn’t be simpler. Once you’re over 18 and own a car no older than 10 years, you’ll have it listed in no time! Just enter your registration, your location, and your daily rate. To set your price, take into account the make, model and year of your car, as well as mileage and how many passengers the vehicle can hold. For example, we would recommend a daily rate of €40 for a 2010 Volkswagen Golf (don’t worry, we’ll suggest a price for you when you list your vehicle). Whether you have a second car that sits in the garage, or if you don’t use your car on certain days of the week, it’s free and easy to list it on the app. There’s no harm in listing your vehicle and seeing what might come of it! Once your car has been booked by a renter, the payment process begins automatically. You will be paid the total amount of the rental fee, excluding administration fees of 10% and the Stripe fee depending on location, meaning you receive 85% of what the renter pays.

To rent a vehicle with Fleet we ask that you are at least 25 years of age (sorry under 25s, but we need that little bit of extra driving experience). Upload a quick photo of your driving licence and you’re ready to go! You can search for vehicles in your area or search by a specific location. Renters can create wish lists of their favourite rentals, check the availability of specific dates, make bookings and chat directly with the car owner if needs be. In the event of any problems on the road, you’ll have 24hr breakdown assistance and our customer care team are always willing to help. Whether you live in the city without a car or if you need a bigger vehicle just for the weekend, Fleet’s service opens the road to a whole new generation of drivers.

Insurance is a very popular subject with our users, and it’s one that we take very seriously. Our vision for Fleet is that it grows into a community of trusted drivers, sharing and respecting each other’s vehicles, but we understand that theft and accidents are a reality drivers sometimes face. Because of this, we have arranged a specific policy created for peer-to-peer car rentals. Our insurer is one of the leading insurers globally, so car owners can be safe in the knowledge that they will take care of any claims against your vehicle. This insurance policy supersedes any existing policy on your vehicle for the duration of the rental. This means that your own personal insurance policy is not affected in the event of any claims on your car, and it does not cost you any additional expense to have our insurance policy in place. It’s hassle-free!

Car sharing is a concept that is being discussed more and more in today’s motor tech industry. Many successful names in the industry see it as the future of driving.
